Easy Dresser Drawer Details with FrogTape

Updating a dresser with a hidden drawer detail is a great way to add your own personal touch to any style of furniture. Details can be on the side of the drawers or even on the inside bottom of drawers. Any space that will take paint can be your own personal canvas.

To get started, gather your materials:

General household cleaner

FrogTape

Sandpaper

Utility knife (or scissors)

Rule or tape measure

Paint

Start with the BASICS

CLEAN your piece with a degreaser. I like to use Fantastic (it's not just for your kitchen counters (LOL).

SAND the surface you are going to paint. Nothing too crazy, you are just painting stripes. A 220 grit should be just fine. You want to lightly scuff the surface up and then clean with a damp rag to remove ALL the dust. Left over dust IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. It will keep your paint from adhering

PLAN your design. Do a Pinterest search or check out IG. Find some inspo or just go freestyle if you want.

Get Started

Tape your design out. Once the tape is in place, firm press all the edges down. You can use the edge of a plastic ruler, a plastic card or scraper, or other firm straight edge to run across the edges and seal them to your surface.

Paint your design. Get creative with color !

Peel your tape, while YOUR PAINT IS STILL WET. This is key! For best results pull the tape off SLOWLY and at a 45 degree angle.

Let Dry and then repeat the Tape, Seal, Paint and Peel process to build your design.
